Aluminum
3003 Aluminum
AL 3003 is an alloy with very good corrosion resistance and moderate strength. It is not heat treatable and develops strengthening from cold working only. 3003 has good machining characteristics for the aluminum alloys and welding is accomplished by conventional methods.
Common uses for this alloy are:
- chemical equipment
- ductwork
- general sheet metal work
- manufacturing of pressure vessels
- garage doors
- storage tanks
- various drawn and spun parts
5052 Aluminum
AL 5052 is an alloy with good forming characteristics and good corrosion resistance, including resistance to salt water. It is non heat treatable and hardened by cold working. AL 5052 can be welded by conventional methods and has fair machining characteristics.
Common uses for this alloy are:
- general sheet metal work
- appliances
- fencing
- signs
- marine applications
